Volunteer Opportunities

Come join Kitsap Habitat for a day of building on our construction sites! We are a volunteer driven organization serving families and communities in Kitsap County Area. Through volunteer labor, management expertise, and tax-deductible donations of money and materials, Kitsap Habitat is able to provide a hand- up to those who otherwise could not afford a new home or repairs to their current residences. We look forward to building with you!

Construction

We are so grateful for the support we have received over these many years who have helped our homeowners fulfill the simple wish of safe, decent, and affordable housing. Kitsap Habitat homes are built with 90% volunteer labor.

We are able to fulfill our mission and remain sustainable by utilizing an all-volunteer construction crew. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, we are blessed to have a regular crew of 12 volunteers who are joined by community individuals and groups. Construction work is on-going all year long but all working days are weather permitting.

No construction experience or tools necessary. Start volunteering now, register on Volunteer UP to sign up for orientation.

Saturday Lunch Provider

Do you like to cook or do you have some friends who would like to put together a meal for our volunteers? If you would rather not swing a hammer, but you have other skills to offer, perhaps this is a good way for you to bless our volunteers with the gift of a good meal.

We ask our lunch providers to bring lunch for up to 25 volunteers on Saturday to our build site. We eat at 11:30 am. You can donate just the food or include the drinks and paper products as well, but whatever you bring it will be greatly appreciated by our hungry, hard-working volunteers.

This is a great family volunteer option! We love to meet everyone who helped make lunch.  Sign up now online.

Kitsap Store

The Kitsap Store sells more than just building materials at a fraction of retail prices. We have furniture, appliances, housewares and even automotive materials. Proceeds from the store help fund the construction of Kitsap Habitat homes. Kitsap Habitat Stores needs volunteers to help manage the store, assist customers and keep merchandise in order and stocked. If you like working with people and in fun environments, this will be a great experience for you.

Support Volunteers

Building stable foundations for future generations; takes lots of behind-the-scenes work from dedicated volunteers, and there are a variety of ways to do this beyond the construction site. There are many opportunities for you to support our work!

Office Administration: Help in our office with data entry, filing, mailings, and other general office duties. Hours are flexible, but a weekly commitment is requested.

Outreach: Help us spread the word! Use your voice to inspire our community to work together to revitalize neighborhoods. Volunteers are needed to conduct outreach through tabling events, social media, website and representing Habitat at community events.

Event Support: We host various outreach and support programs throughout the year: Women's Build, Home Dedications, and Groundbreakings. We always appreciate an extra hand with set-up, registration, and event wrap-up!
